Had to wait a few days to get this one out due to life stuff.
I definitely do not have the chops to sing this but gave it my best shot. The chorus sounds slightly like Fred Schneider from the B-52s, which, hey, it could be worse!
Couple other things:
-First time finger drumming.
-The verse guitar is supposed to be a nod to Eric Clapton's work on the Lethal Weapon Soundtrack.
-The world is yours is a quote from Scarface, not exactly an action hero (I guess depends on who you ask lol) but this is heavily inspired by "Push It To the Limit" from that soundtrack.
Midnight at drug deal port
Boatloads of white powder to snort
This city is pretty
But it’s ugly after nightfall
Two shadows cutting a deal
Suitcase of cash and gun steel
Who can stop
This criminal cabal
Enter the 80s action man
Feathered hair, spray can tan
So cool, old school
Karate kicks the bad guys down,
Helicopter flight uptown,
For the girl,
Man the world, is yours
The big boss sets up in a depot
His bodyguard is known as el Creepo
Abandoned warehouse
A perfect spot for bad guys
He’s got a hostage hung from a hook
That’s chapter one in the villain’s handbook
Who can save her
From a lethal acid swan dive
Enter the 80s action star
Feathered hair, red sports car
So cool, old school
Head butt the creepy clown,
Push a button, hook comes down
Saves the girl,
Man, the world, is yours
I wanna be an action man
Greying hair, sensible sedan
So cool, old school
Karate kick the bad guys down
Book an economy flight out of town
With the girl, man the world, is mine?

The contrast of busy choruses and sparse, funky verses works very well indeed.

I like the rich sonic landscape against which your lyrics are set. Definitely far better than i could ever manage. lyrics could belong to a movie soundtrack, nice and evocative. like the driving guitar especially at the beginning section of the song.

I love the musical nods to 80’s action movies and tv shows.
The cliches are nice. I’d play them up even more if you decide to do something with this.
I liked the chorus music! So fun!

This turns on a penny! Love the contrast between the spooky bass-and-drums verse and the throbbing synths of the chorus.
