This is for the Paint Card challenge ( https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12530/ ), where there's a list of paint card names for inspiration. The one that jumped out at me was Quiet Rain.
I wanted to do something poetic, as my previous song was a comedy. I came up with the first line, and then that stanza fell into place quickly. Some of the rest was harder, but on the whole this took me less than an hour.
If you want to set this to music, let me know. I'm picturing something slow and moody, like a quiet rain.
Enjoy!
Trickling obscenity
A night-world emergency
Clouded insurgency
A stolen laugh.
Veiled absurdity
Mimicked profundity
Guiltless rotundity
A timeless drug.
Monsoon philosophy
Extreme discography
A soul in atrophy
Wicked nature.
No penchant abounds
Rapture resounds
On frightful grounds
A cunning slash.
Tears of chronology
Astral biology
Horrid necrology
Death.
We cannot ascend this nightmare-scape
We condescend with lacuna eyes
We over-portend a wrath of sky
Our fate, weird.

I may be hearing a melody in my head. May I attempt to add my voice to this? As a fellow tambourine.

Very poetic write and strong and descriptive. Really like "Wicked nature." I can see how you were inspired and thanks for doing the Paint Card Challenge!

Powerful words, my man. "Monsoon philosophy" is a term I enjoy immensely. I don't know how you feel about it, but I think this could actually be something like The Cure?

I'm not sure whether this is climbing from the start or descending to the penultimate stanza. Either way the last stanza sums it up, as best as I can see. I'm pretty sure, when set, this will make listeners say "wait, what?" and reach for the replay button.

I can't quite figure out how you got to this from "Quiet Rain", but maybe that was part of the point. It reads really smoothly, and has it's own rhythm. My favorite verse was:
Veiled absurdity
Mimicked profundity
Guiltless rotundity
A timeless drug.
Particularly Guiltless rotundity. An interesting concept.
