Tongue firmly in cheek, at least during the verses...
Yeah, I know the vocal is a bit quiet. I forgot to hit the compressor back on before exporting, but hey it's just a demo.

when I was five, fell in a puddle
first day of school, start of the struggle
when I was seven, moved to the wop-wops
living the farm life
I don’t know how I survived
moved to the city when I was eight
oh what a pity
had a first kiss, she was a bit older
both of our parents were single mothers
cut the fake nostalgia, yeah, yeah, yeah
cut the fake nostalgia, na na na
when I was 10, went to a new school
i was the youngest, they were the old-school
then I was 13, short as 11
and I was brainy
I don’t know how I survived
when I was 15, got my first girl
then she went and dumped me
went and got married, I don’t know who to
but he was not me
then they got divorced
cut the fake nostalgia, yeah, yeah, yeah
cut the fake nostalgia, na na na
cut the fake nostalgia
cut the fake nostalgia
cut the fake nostalgia

wow..this is good. What fuzz pedal do you use? It sounds epic.
Great vibe. I love the punk rock sound. Riffing is great. Love it.
@cblack Feb 2022
Ha! Love it!

the intro riff is already great, then it kicks in double and it sounds huge. for me the vocals are mixed fine, but I do like 'em on the low side. your guitar work is always fantastic, even as a demo they sound so full and there are some wonderful little adlibs or flourishes. the lyrics are also great and I totally relate - I think? I mean I think I understand them and relate but I'm not entirely sure. but that's great too!

Those guitar tones are huge and relentless, love them. Another powerful, punk inspired rocker. Excellent.
@seemanski Feb 2022
Those guitars are HUGE and infectious. It kind of feels like a cross breed between smashing pumpkins and blur. Your vocals have the kind of charm they deliver and the huge guitars remind me of song 2 a little.

Very cool riffs. The sound really has that late 90s/early 2000s punk/nu-metal drive. This actually evokes nostalgia in me, as it sounds like something that could've been in early 2000s NHL games by EA Sports. I really dig the breakdown at 1:44 when that riff starts grinding again by itself.
@jepist45 Feb 2022
killer song, really love the lyrics and the whole tune just pumps.
@mattwdunn Feb 2022
Getting some smashing pumpkins from the riffs. Definitely making me nostalgic for 90s Alt-Rock. Thats one hell of a riff

About how I feel for my pre-17 past. Fake nostalgia, all about us, possibly because most people can't face what they were or what they've become. ? Anyway, great setting (yes I KNOW but this is FAWM). Good stuff. [EDIT: ooo I like the sudden-death end! ]

This is cool af - kind of a Blink182 vibe with a little more edge. I think you could do more with the verse lyrics. I know they're tongue in cheek, but they could be more specifically tongue cheek, Maybe she dumped you for a stupid reason? Something like that.
