I attempted the weekly challenge. Not sure how successful I was in that.
I also tried prompt #27. Try to "automate" something that you normally do yourself in your songwriting process. I usually play the drum part but wrote to some Butch Vig drum loops. About 30 minutes later I had lyrics which are inspired by an Instagram post I saw and saved the other day that said "the only way to win with a toxic person, is not to play" and BOOOOOOOOY was that relatable!
Head held high
Rise above the lies
Of an unhappy life
Trying to control my life
Falling victim to the criticism
Of high expectations
That are just opinions
You’re never gonna win
The toxicity buried within
Pours out with every word that you say
Your actions are weapons designed to cause damage
No matter what happens you’ll never be happy
I’m walking away
To find a happy place
I’m walking away
Cause I don’t wanna play your games
You aren’t happy so you make a target out of me
Manipulate with stories that you spin
Everything has to be the way you want it to be
That’s not reality and it don’t work for me
I don’t want to play your sick and twisted games
I don’t want to play

Love it. The BV drums are gloriously shouty and crunchy and I can hear Shirley's influence in the vocals, too. Which is just as it should be.

I'm getting kind of a Garbage vibe from this (umm, the band, not literal rubbish) and I really like it.

A real rocker with a driving beat. And, it's really relatable, since so many people are into games these days, rather than actual stable relationships. I think you did a great job of taking your inspiration line and giving it a broader voice. Nice job!!
