More angsty 90's rock. This one feature a guitar solo from a non-fawmer. My long time friend, Matt Ryan, who dropped in from out of town.
Shut out the whispers dancing in your head
Cling to your rosery tonight
Don’t dare question what the preacher says
Until he reads you your last rights
But when you’re all alone…deep down you know they’re lies
Everybody’s got a cross to bear
So what the hell is so special about Jesus?
Nobody wants to believe we go nowhere
But that don’t mean that prayers get answered
And when you’re all alone…it keeps you up at night
Here comes the lie, here comes salvation
We’re here to save you from damnation
Here comes the man for all your wisdom
Now praise the god who takes your freedom
Don’t complain, just drop your money in the basket
The clergy needs a bigger yacht
Close your eyes and stay in line with all the masses
It’s best you do what you’ve been taught
And when you’re all alone…you know that they are wrong
Here comes the lie, here comes salvation
We’re here to save you from damnation
Here comes the man for all your wisdom
Now praise the god who takes your freedom
War. Suffering. In the name of make believe

Wow, this is killer! So iconic of its genre. You really nailed it. :)

I had to click because I have the song of the same title and then 'grunge' and '90s' are just my thing. Even more so when it's a song about the church. And boy, I feel at home here. That chorus is super strong and drives the whole thing home. Topped with impressive guitar work – that's some skills right here. Good work.

The verses in particular are absolute gold here. Love the guitar work and the melodies are too drawer. Another catchy chorus that gets stuck in the head by the second run through. Just mopping my melted face up after the guitar solo
