Sláinte is a traditional Irish toast of good health.
This song is actually not about covid, so you guessed wrong! It's about recovering from stuff. Including the experience of writing this song.
They said, there's nothing wrong at all.
They said, its temporary, small
I wait, I recover live to see another day
In a few hours I'll be on my way
You said, don't worry it'll be fine
You said, its gonna work this time
I sit with the feeling that we're getting nowhere near
Will I still be in this place next year
For good health, we take the medicine
For good health, we swallow down in one
To good health, we raise our glasses up high
We say, we'll travel the world and we'll holiday
Let ourselves unfurl in the Spanish sun
Recouperate, repair some
Feel what it's like to be alive
For good health, we take the medicine
For good health, we swallow down in one
To good health, we raise our glasses up high

Wow I really like what you've done here - I love the rather pensive verses juxtaposed with the upbeat "chorus" and the whole piece has a sweet wistfulness about it. I especially like the "unfurl in the Spanish sun" imagery. I wanted to hear more about the people in this song, and that's good! Beautiful piano accompaniment and lovely vocals :-)
