So, this is a collaboration with a “CatalogFavorites” catalog full of witty T-shirt quotes that I mashed together to create a somewhat cohesive song….Not sure if it really works, but sometimes it can be a bit fun to “sing the phone book” as a vocal/songwriting exercise, and I thought this would be a light-hearted little song to boost spirits mid-FAWM
Chorus:
(I’m going to stand outside…)
So if you see me talking to myself, just move along
(I’m going to stand outside…)
I’m self-employed, we’re having a staff meeting (swapped lines for effect)
I’m going to stand outside
So if anyone asks, just say that I’m OUTSTANDING.
Awesome ends with ME. Coincidence? I think not.
Every once in a while, someone amazing comes along and here I am—
OUTSTANDING
Admit it. Life would be so boring without me.
I came. I saw. I forgot what I was doing.
Retraced my steps, got lost on the way back.
Now I have no idea what’s going on.
It takes real skills to choke on air, fall up the stairs and trip over nothing. I have those skills.
75% of my brain capacity is wasted on song lyrics.
I’ve reached the age where my train of thought often leaves the station without me.
Admit it. Life would be so boring without me.
CHORUS
I tried to be normal once. Worst minute of my life.
Had a big mixup at the store.
Apparently, when the woman said, “Strip down facing me” she was referring to my credit card…
I meant to behave but there were too many other options.
Just once, I want a username and password prompt to say, “Close enough.”
WiFi went down for five minutes so I had to talk to my family. They seem like nice people.
My doctor asked if anyone in my family suffers from mental illness. I said, “No. We all seem to enjoy it.”
Sometimes I question my sanity but the unicorn in the kitchen told me I’m fine.
CHORUS
OOPS…Did I roll my eyes out loud?
It’s okay if you disagree with me. I can’t force you to be right.
I can keep my mouth shut, but you can read the subtitles on my face.
Accidentally used the dog’s shampoo today and I’m feeling like such a good girl.
You couldn’t handle me even if I came with instructions.
Some people call me crazy. I prefer the term “happy with a twist”.
I’m going to stand outside. So if anyone asks just say that I’m outstanding.

What a cool idea/concept for a song! You’ve taken some weird things and made them into a great song. The chorus works really well.

So fun! I love how the chorus works for all those wacky verse lines.
Outstanding!

This is great! So playful and fun. I admire pieces that can have this type of self-aware wink. Some grin-inducing lyrics and the musical delivery is perfect.
Fwiw, I have the same 75% allocation. I'd be ok, except the majority of the rest is taken up by movie quotes!

You paint such a vivid picture and this character's voice is clear. I could picture this being performed as part of a musical
