Feb 2022 feb1112skirmishno6 skirmish mandolin armor armour
I felt like a skirmish! I grabbed my mandolin for this for a little different sound. I pasted the title into my Microsoft Word and it was redlined. A google search told me it was "the chiefly British variant of Armor" and lyric began to form. Gosh I love FAWM!
The word was armour
Spelled a r m o u r
Microsoft word was dismayed
Red underline displayed
It wasn’t the armor it wished
Because the version spelled was British
I assume armour protects as well
Even though we fight about how to spell
Microsoft Word will need to allow
The addition of one more vowel
Proof positive this is worldwide
Spellcheckers should collide
We allow differences creatively
But redlined by technology
The word was armour
Spelled a r m o u r
Microsoft word was dismayed
Red underline displayed
It wasn’t the armor it wished
Because the version spelled was British

If armour drops one "air", it means love in french. If armor does too, it means love in spanish. Possibly, it means love is the sollution to all misspellings.
(My spellchecker underlines everything in red. He does not want me to change langage...)

Nice work, I like take on the prompt. Nice mando playing.

As someone who writes in British English during my work day and American English the rest of the day, I can really get behind this subject matter! Thank you for so effectively and humorously capturing this annoyance. The struggle is real!

Wow I love your voice!!! Nice touch with the mandolin! Great skirmish!

The Armour Meat Co was founded in Chicago in 1867 by the Armour brothers. It was the first company to use refrigeration. So take that MS Word!

Ha! This is delightful and fun. As always your music is ace!

This is wonderful! It was that darn redline that caused me to panic and update the skirmish prompt to armor.

I have never read or listened to any lyrics like these yet... Hahaha... made me smile... What a creative idea! We all experience those "spelling troubles" in Microsoft Word almost daily, but until now, no one has written a song about it yet... Lovely!

Oh, this is fun!
