Here we are at our tenth FAWM submission.
I don't know how we got here, but. We're here.
And we're going to play really bad guitar and do some warble-wobble with our voice box.
I don't like it.
I can't believe
How can you dream when the world is all teeth
Slowly stripping skin off the back of your neck
With the blood draining down, feeding their machines
I can't believe, she said
How can you... How can you dream?
Look at my eyes, they're hollow
I don't dream, I can barely sleep at night
I am running out of time
These chains they bind the flesh
But also criss-cross the mind
Sinking down, down, down, down
I have no way out...
I can't believe
How can you breathe when the world is all hands, strangling
Slowly squeezing with your flesh pale white
How do you breathe, she said, how do you breathe?
I don't breathe, I can't open my mouth
Barely a whisper when I cry out
All I have are these blank pages
That they haven't set to flame
I... I'm afraid I will never be
Who I ought to be
Before my curtain calls...
Do I dream? Do I breathe?
I don't know, I don't know
I can't believe, she said, how can you dream
I don't know... I don't know... ..
I don't know... .. .

Wow, this is amazing. You had me at that opening fuzzy (synth?) bass/bass drum combo. That slow build is so good, and I was sitting here thinking "god, I hope there's a decent vocal coming, cos I love this so far", and you do not disappoint. The vocal has a cool raw edge, and totally delivers on the start. It's not often I'll listen to a 7.5 minute song on FAWM and be disappointed that it's ended. Five stars. 10 out of 10.
