Feb 2022 acoustic singer-songwriter folk americana alt-country country
This one has a little bit more of a country feel. I tend to write sad songs, so I thought I'd try to write something more upbeat. The tempo is fast, but the lyrics are...melancholy? I guess that's a step above sad. :)
It's a short life
Let's stay up all night
No need to worry
About me at all
Last call
I'm waltzing away
From my last chance
Give me one last call
That's how I came to be
At the end of this road
Only one direction I could see
And it didn't head back home
It was last call
I'm waltzing away
From my last chance
Give me one last call
Last call
I'm waltzing away
From my last chance
Give me one last call
Last call
I'm waltzing away
From my last chance
Give me one last call

Nice write: "last call" is a super evocative phrase, and you've made it focused on the road, which is cool.
