I am learning Ableton Live. Enjoying it so far. I wrote this melody while driving in my car. Very interesting to be able to record in an unusual key that I would not be able to play on the guitar (the way I usually write) because I generally suck at bar chords :)
December Rain
In the soft ground
Footprints you made
Soon they’ll be gone
All washed away
And the coffee cold
And the silence strange
Leaves me to wonder
In december raiin
When it falls down
December rain
It falls in curtains
Of black and gray
I know I know I know I have changed
It makes my heart cold
December rain
Things i should have said
Things i should have done
Pile up like fallen leaves
Around me know
And spring will come
But far too late
And so it ends again
In december rain
When it falls down
December rain
It falls in curtains
Of black and gray
I know I know I know I have changed
It makes my heart cold
December rain

I love the "things I should have said, things I should have done, pile up like fallen leaves"
really brings that windy cold dark desolate rainy December road to music-life.
also "November Rain" was one of my favorite songs some years ago and I like thinking of this as a kind of sequel

I like your voice here. And the lyrics flow really well. The drums are a nice touch. Sedate but powerful.
Nice work. :)

I love the lines "when it falls down, December rain, it falls in curtains of black and grey." Those are great lines. It's a beautiful song, not much to change here. I think the Catbird Open mike is coming back in March or April by the way.

Lovely song, i like the arrangement. Your words are simple but somehow very expressive; paints a picture in my head and this song took me on a journey... Thank you for this track!

Nice write! I love the image of regrets piling up like autumn's leaves, still hanging around in December to be slick underfoot. Finding new songs in a new instrument (or DAW) is always a joy.
You could likely play along with this one by capoing your guitar at the second fret and playing in Em (with G, C, D).
