A skirmish song about my desperate attempt to remain daddy's girl when my brother came along.
I felt so special, when I was your world
Handed you tools, while you worked on your car
'til little brother, became your star
I shot the best, in gun safety course
But you were worried, about how brother felt
shown up by his sister, the blow he'd been dealt
Bought my first car, a 67 gto
I’m sure you would help me, bring that car back to life
Then I'd be your girl again, didn't matter the price
CHORUS
Childhood memories
difficult for me
Childhood memories
so bittersweet
Childhood memories
difficult for me
Childhood memories

Aww, this is a tender and sad tale of childhood memories! You paint a vivid picture of the struggle! Nicely sung and played! Really nice skirmishing!

Your song does a good job giving this only child a glimpse into another kind of childhood. I grew up in Pasadena and of all things it rained the day our gun safety group went to the range. Closest I got was a couple of rides in a friend's GTO. Good skirmishing.

These are lovely lyrics and you say so much with just a few words. Siblings get jealous of each other, that is "normal", but it is way more painful if the reasons for that jealousy do have a real background and root. The melody is beautiful, you evoke that feel of "bitter-sweetness" that you wanted to go for...

This is a fine portrait of the narrator's (¿your?) father. Those old images of masculinity were poisonous, especially for girls, but also for many boys as well. I never lived up to my Dad's macho image of what I should be.

This really is bittersweet. You really are saying a huge amount in just a couple of lines I'm really impressed with that. Great memorable chorus.
