That Rick sounds Sweet!
I dig the vocal phrasing and the longing lyric. Still nice to have some memories.

Wow, That's quite a skirmish.
That E A E A E A progression took me back to how much I loved the song Doo Run Run when I was a kid. I like how you start with those basics and then make it all matter.
@wylddandelyon Feb 2022
Ah, such a sweet, sad song. You are so rock solid in the vocals and guitar, I really don't have a comment but well done.
@johnstaples Feb 2022
This is really beautiful! First, that Rick sounds amazing! And your vocals are really sweet! Love the melody in the bridge and the refrain/hook section is a treat every time it comes around! Really excellent work on the skirmish!

My daughters have been on me to write down my childhood memories. It's not as easy as it might have been a few decades ago. But a lot has happened since then, and they want that all documented as well. They don't know what they're asking. Maybe I should channel it all through songs. Or lyrics at least. It certainly seems to have worked for you. This is such a nice listen! It conjures up so many great mental images in relatively few words. I really enjoyed it!!
@lifewithtomcat Feb 2022
As a 53 year old, who documented very little of his life, the last verse kinda hurt my heart - great work
@jwhanberry Feb 2022
Sounds like you're remembering some good ones. That electric 12 string sounds great. They can take up a lot of space so good for solo accompaniment.
@keithcuts Feb 2022
Solid songwriting as usual Bernie!
Effective song structure and language tells you experience excellently!
@misterdemp Feb 2022
Cool picture you create here of aging, memories and reflection of past to present. Love the melody, voice, and guitar!
@pattie Feb 2022
Love everything about this!! The guitar tone is awesome - the lyrics - total flashback - I swear I could've known you when I was young..... Especially love the line " Thoughts about that girl that I couldn't confess" Sheer honesty there... Well done! Love your style!!
@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
This is such a wonderfully nostalgic song, Berni! I love the wonderful details. Gorgeous and insightful bridge. Love the delivery and the poignancy in this!
@mardeycranbleson Feb 2022
Great song, the memorable chorus glues it all together.. Great bridge also it flows really well from the rest of it (I have a hard time with that so I get lazy about doing bridges).
@arthurrossi Feb 2022
This is such a gorgeous song... I like the contrast between the wistful lyrics and the more serene melody. You conjure up very vivid and shining images with your words here. It is very relatable as many of us share the same or at least the majority of similar memories of our childhood days. I also enjoy that bridge that you build between the past and the present and between you and your grandson in the last verse, observing that many things have changed... Great skirmish!
@cicpisces Feb 2022
Nice images and very relatable stories. Nice melody. You keep me listening with those memories. Nice work.
