You had me at 'chamber jazz'. Those flute/basson/clarinet parts! Insanely expression-ful ride cymbal. Piano sound is terrific, though the double bass snags my ear a little -- would benefit from a more organic-sounding sample perhaps? Compositionally masterful,
Wooo! At the winds at 3:20! This is jazzy, but here's why I love it and not It bugs me - the cymbal beat is straight straight straight straight straight. New sense of purpose for sure.
Confession: as I listen (the first time) I am mechanically quantizing the bass midi of a different session, to make sure all is well, I'm grabbing notes in bunches instead of quantizing the whole track. So as I scrub them, they make these randomly timed noises not unlike the tone of your bass in here and sound like some freeform jazz!
Edit - when I say the cymbal is straight I don't mean to omit, the absolutely delicious variation in its hits. It's like the drummer has 400 sticks to hit the cymbal with, all different and all wonderful.
This is fantastic, love your playing. This has got that meditative ECM feel, sort of like a deep breath in a beautiful space. Nice balance between a static background with just the right amount of chord changes and changes of atmosphere. I like that other synth (or whatever it is? harmonium sounding thing?) that comes in around 2:30, that's unexpected and nice.

I don't usually rave about cymbal hits!
Rolling it again.
