This is a gentle take on the classic "Rhythm Changes", which are the chord progressions on which George Gershwin's classic song, "I've Got Rhythm", is based. This takes Gershwin's familiar chords and creates a new melody (as well as lyrics, in this case), to create a new song. Miles Davis' renown "Oleo" is an example.
Chord progressions, themselves, are not copyrightable, so there's no need to officially credit George Gershwin for this song. But those of us who are into jazz certainly nod to him when we do something like this.
Enjoy!
P.S. This might be a fun weekly challenge sometime.
Gentle
Like a lilting breeze
It's gentle
Like a woolen fleece
It's gentle
Like a soft summer rain
You'll want to feel it again
Gentle
Like a flowing gown
It's gentle
A bed filled with down
Is gentle
The color sepia brown
The rhythm of the song is gentle
Gentle is as gentle does
Softening the edges can be a big plus
Reducing it down to just peach fuzz
No muss, no fuss
Gentle
Like a soft caress
Gentle
When you casually undress
Gentle
Like a warm compress
What you've got here is gentle
Gentle is as gentle does
Softening the edges can be a big plus
Reducing it down to just peach fuzz
No muss, no fuss
Gentle
Like a whispering wind
Gentle
Like a bed to sink in
Gentle
Like creamy soft skin
You'll want to gentle some more

Cute song, mellow and enjoyably lazy!

Rhythm changes always take me back to the early 20th century. Everything's gentle but maybe the kazoo. :-) Sweet vocal!

Kazoo for the win! This is the way it should be incorporated.
Really nice understated performance, which I think you make sound so great. Nice write too! Your best of FAWM.

Cool!

Is it kazoo in the solo? Gentle song, nice jazzy feeling.
