I was hungover after day one of a three-day birthday party...I think it shows on this recording. However it is a song and I can tweak it at another time. Despite the lines of dark imagery it's meant to be a song of reassurance.
Thought they’d make a truth
In a space between ignorance and knowledge
Or that desolate no-ones-land
That reaches from healing and damage
They barely exist
Between I and us
No sense of belonging
No binding trust
Explore the tiny gap
Between feeling and knowing
You might not find a sense of direction
At least you’ll know which way the wind is blowing
The razor fence’s ragged line
Splits the earth from the thunder
Cruel blades rip her clothes
Rips the flesh they covered
The cuts will heal
In time skin grows over
Toxic relationships
Cause wounds you carry forever
Explore the tiny gap
Between feeling and knowing
You might not find a sense of direction
At least you’ll know which way the wind is blowing
Secrets leaked out of his mind
Formed pools of poison
She held her secrets deep inside
Didn't want him to enjoy them
Explore the tiny gap
Between feeling and knowing
You might not find a sense of direction
At least you’ll know which way the wind is blowing
