If anyone likes these lyrics and would like to put them to music, I would be very happy. Please, feel free to alter the words any way you like…
Santa-Monica-blues (needs music)
Sittin’ on the bank of the Mississippi,
sittin’ on the bank of the Mississippi,
I play the blues on my harmonica…
I knew a Miss that was a hippie,
I knew a Miss that was a hippie,
she left me and moved to Santa Monica…
(Chorus)
I’ve got the Santa-Monica-blues,
it’s on my mind, it’s in my shoes,
I’ve got the Santa-Monica-blues,
the Santa-Monica-blues… the Santa-Monica-blues…
I watch this river, dreamin’ of the ocean,
I watch this river, dreamin’ of the ocean,
I wish I were on a Pacific beach…
Days just drag on as in slow motion,
days just drag on as in slow motion,
and Santa Monica remains beyond my reach…
(Chorus)
I’ve got the Santa-Monica-blues,
it’s on my mind, it’s in my shoes,
I’ve got the Santa-Monica-blues,
the Santa-Monica-blues… the Santa-Monica-blues…
Sittin’ on the bank of the Mississippi,
sittin’ on the bank of the Mississippi,
no, there is nothing else that I could do…
Oh yes, I know this must sound creepy,
oh yes, I know this must sound creepy,
it’s stuck in my head, that Santa-Monica-blues…
(Chorus)
I’ve got the Santa-Monica-blues,
it’s on my mind, it’s in my shoes,
I’ve got the Santa-Monica-blues,
the Santa-Monica-blues… the Santa-Monica-blues…

I like the use of repetition in these lyrics. There's a good amount of heartbreak but the song manages to not feel overly sad.
