Hanging around and wrote this song. Then Suzanne came hanging around and helped write it better. Sometimes it’s good to just hang around I guess.
I’m just hanging around
Sun comes up the sun goes down
Waiting around on the avenue
I’m just viewing the view
Hanging around nothing to do
Hanging around the avenue
Found a penny, threw it over my shoulder
Try to improve the luck I had
The only thing that I got
Was luck that was bad
Stepped on a line, hope Momma’s fine
Stepped on a crack, had to backtrack
Somebody call my doctor
I’m having a heart attack

I'm with @unknownbecky this feels a lot like a lost John Prine song. Love that dancing solo guitar line, after all the rock solid strumming

Catchy chorus and I can imagine singing this round a big camp fire.

Hanging around is such a good pastime! This song reminds me some of John Prine, which I mean as a high compliment—he's my favorite songwriter. Really a great listen.

Loved this, a great fun bit of roots country. The list in the chorus is super catchy.
