This is a morphed song from the original seed song by @scubed. While the seed song expressed a longing for escape, mine comes more from the excitement of travel and the anticipation of summer road trips ahead.
It is the 2nd song in the 3rd Morph chain.
Been so long since it all went wrong.
I can’t remember how I feel
Just get it rolling
not sure where I’m going
country full of wonders to see
Westbound highway, Westbound highway.
I’m coming soon but I can’t leave today
Westbound highway, Westbound highway
If I had wings I would fly
Fly away
This road outside my door
Leads away to so many more
Can’t always see what’s up ahead
now I found
what holds me down
Leave these blues behind when all is done and said
Chorus
And I will see that mighty ocean
From the wide and endless sand
Breathe the open sky deep inside
When the road runs out of land
Westbound highway, Westbound highway.
I’m coming but I can’t leave today
Westbound highway, Westbound highway
If I had wings I would fly
Fly away
Fly away

Rewinding the morph, like how the on the road thing moves around. You kept the west!

Like the rhythm track creating a momentum - the voice is introspective - the chords work well . Wow you went gif a key change . Impressed !! An altogether finished sounding song !!!

I love this! The bridge and the chorus are awesome (the minor 4 in the chorus is a lovely touch). I can see traces of my seed song because I’m looking for them, but you’ve taken my general idea and made it completely your own. Really enjoyed the listen.

So cool to hear this song morph! This one is a real toe-tapper. The optimistic tension of longing to get on the road, knowing it's there, waiting. Not today but soon. "This road outside my door/
Leads away to so many more" is a great image.

This is a great feeling and perfect driving song. keeps you moving and groovin. Cool key change/harmonies/chords in the bridge! helps things take flight!

I could listen to this song all day long. Great story telling conveying restlessness and leaving a fair amount of mystery and questions. Although you used a very sparse arrangement, which was great, I kept imaging it with a full bluegrass band... guitar, banjo, mando, fiddle, bass and three-part harmonies on the chorus. Another very good song!
