The McCander Room is a lounge were the well-to-do and well connected mix and mingle. It is chill. (and also I just made this place up -- I called it Vermillion Room originally, but it is a real place in Canada.)
This piece was supposed to have an alto sax solo. The virtual instrument didn't do it justice. I know the person I want to play it, but there is not enough money/time. The violin part has some of ideas of what I to write for the solo part, but is basically there for the length. I eventually want to do a Take 5 type of piece, but I need that chord underpinning for when the soloing takes over.

Nice and chill out...lovely composition and playing. Beautiful violin. That's how I want my guitar to sound. I really enjoyed this song.

I feel like I’m on the chillest elevator ride of my life, or playing some old school Animal Crossing (when the violin comes in). I absolutely love the multiple strings you’ve layered. Guitar is hella soothing too. Great stuff with the drums as well- solid levels there.

Oh, this is a perfectly comfortable chilled song. I like it very much. When the violin starts I get goosebumps - so beautiful...

That jazz violin solo pretty cool, even if just as a seed for a different solo. I like the piano and guitar playing and the overall sense of rhythm. The jazzy but chill lounge vibe is, yes, nailed.

Oh, when that samba kicks in almost 45 seconds in I just burst out laughing at how this just nails the lounge vibe. You do want that dry-martini alto but don't lose that fiddle either, it sounds pleasingly like Grappelli is sitting in after hours. Nice work!

love the drums and piano intro - really laidback and super cool. nice guitar and violin melodies, they sound great. as it goes on it becomes less and less laidback, and begins to become a little bit anxiety inducing. not at all a criticism, I really enjoyed the track a lot

Lovely jazzy vibes and improvisations.

I love this. You captured the high class and the idleness, but the chords are fascinating. More complex than the high society. And I love the refined quality of the fiddle. I wish I could get that tone! (I'm not posting any fiddle this year, it just sounds so sour). Well done. I look forward to how this will evolve.

Oh this grooves. Loving the instrumental mix. And the back story does set the scene nicely.
@nadine Feb 2022
This is super cool and smooth! I didn't think about a violin in this arrangement and it works so well!
Why don't you ask a FAWMer to play a sax solo?
@tseaver Feb 2022
Nice write: the vibe works well: the fiddle tune summons the Hot Club bit well.
FWIW, I play guitar in a jazz ensemble here, 90% or more of what I play is straight rhythm (we have anywhere from 5 - 7 horns, plus a talented pianist), so I know what it is to lay down that kind of chordal support.

Cool. I really like the vibe of this song. Great job!
