Thank you, Band in a Box. I do not play the trombone.
You can get up in the morning
You can take a walk downtown
You can smile at passing strangers
Even though your world is upside down
It’s easy to pretend these days
To play your given part
You can do almost anything with a broken heart
You can make your coffee order
At your local place to go
You can flirt with the barista
You don’t mean it but he'll never know
Just fake it til you make it
You’ve got this down to an art
You can do almost anything with a broken heart
And even though it hurts so much
You have to keep on going
You can carry all the pain
If you make sure it’s never showing
This kind of thing takes practice
It gets easier each day
But I’d be lying if I said the hurt completely goes away
So you tell yourself that next time
You’ll be sure to play it smart
It's exhausting living life with a broken heart

This trombone solo once again...
I like the way the end of your verse makes the meaning of the whole verse suddently change.
Another good one !

I came for the tags, I stayed for the song. This is great! Super original, not every day you hear something like this on FAWM! And great vocal performance!

You sound great in this, your voice works really well with jazz. Enjoyed the trombone solo also, it fit the "resigned to being upbeat" message and vibe.

A great message in a fun tune. Resilience! We need it! I wish you'd have been another person in #morph1. This sentiment in the middle of it, but with a jazzy flare.

Oh wow, this is ever a keeper. The lyrics and the melody just pair so gorgeously and naturally together and the jazz backing is just delightful. I'm not sure why but I'm totally seeing it in a musical. It's amazing to hear you again!

I really like this backing for this melody. I don't think most people would have done that even with the jazz influence in parts of it. It would be really cool to hear a more bespoke arrangement for it, of course, but even singing over the band in the box it works really well.

But I like it that we have the chance to picture you playing the trombone. That's nice. :) Great, great, great hook. Did I mention great? Sounds terrific, so good to hear you jazzing it up. Captures that sort of hopeful self talk in this situation that we might find ourselves in. Also, that hook!

This is absolutely incredible! Empowering, very jazzy lyrics and beautiful vocals + music. Congrats and thank you for sharing, I could feel my heart heal itself as I was listening. <3
