Call me when you’re bored
When you’re busy I’m ignored
Falling at your feet
Expecting me to drop it all when you want to meet (let’s meet)
Am I stupid? Am I dumb?
Am I just your bit of fun?
When I want commitment
You just run
You run
You say I have a chance
Then you let me down
I wish you’d be decisive
Then I’d know if to stop striving
And you say that we can make it
I believe it though you fake it
Oh,
One step forward, two steps back
I fall for the attack,
...Oh fuck
One step forward, two steps back
I fell for the attack
Get angry when I don’t play ball
And I don’t wanna answer your calls
But now i’m back where I should be
Falling for it once again when ya say it’s only me (let’s meet)
Am I stupid? Am I dumb?
Am I just your bit of fun?
When I want commitment
You just run
You run
You say I have a chance
Then you let me down
I wish you’d be decisive
Then I’d know if to stop striving
And you say that we can make it
I believe it though you fake it
Oh,
One step forward, two steps back
I fall for the attack,
...Oh fuck
One step forward, two steps back
I fell for the attack
What is love
is it just a game, where I get played, for the sake, of your vanity
What is love
is it just a game, where trusts misplaced, in the face, of your philandering
What is love, is love
It’s nothing now but dirt and rust
Misplaced hopes and broken trust
We’ve reached the end,
Watch me defend my sanity
As you drown there in your vanity
I’m not stupid, I’m not dumb
I’m not you’re bit of fun
When I want my freedom
I just run
I run

Great lyrics. I think "poignant" is the word I'm looking for (I've just never used it before). The words clearly want to be sung. Not by me, though, this needs drums and electric guitars and all, imo.
Don't get me wrong, when I say the last verse was a relief. Because you really captured that feeling of being stuck in such an unhealthy dynamic, you know?

Very rhythmic write. The lyric captures some of my early experiences in the dating game and I feel like I knew some of these characters. Also captures the shifting feelings and the final realization that it ain't working and it is time to move on.

Great write, Jordan. It’s got a very interesting rhythm. Very theatrical!
