Fun fact: a majority of my songs are written on ukulele then arranged for a rock band when I sit down in the studio to record. So most don't ever hear the ukulele demos that I do on my phone when I'm at work. Hoping to spend some studio time now I'm home for a few days.
Anyways....
Inspired by the new that the International Space Station will be decommissioned/plummeted back to earth in a fireball in 2031. Kind of Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder/Alanis Morrisette vibes for me and the arrangement I can hear in my head. Hope you like this one. I'll try to break away from the uke for the next song!
Looking up for a sign
Searching the sky
For your light
Like a star in the night
Don’t be scared; the whole world’s watching you
You may not know so far out there how much we care
And you’ll go out in a blaze of glory
To live on for all of history
And when you’re falling, we’ll catch you
And bring you back home again
Now’s the time to say goodbye
You showed us the world
The wonders of the universe
In the dark and cold
You were never alone
As we spin round and round together
I hope you know how much it mattered
When you’re put to bed
Finally able to rest
Know that you were the best of us
What we can achieve
What it means to believe
Launched to new heights and you made it possible
