Feb 2022 rock hard-rock hardest-rock alternative indie grunge synth
Sometimes you just wanna rock something really dumb. Other times, you have to watch a lot of dumb stuff for work and figure out how to fit your brand in it without dumbing it down that far.
Sometimes those two thoughts come together in a song...
As for the vocals, they're a very rough take but since I had access to my good audio interface today, they sound a lot better than some of the previous demos I've uploaded this FAWM!
I'm also quite chuffed with the guitar sound. In case you're wondering, it's largely double-tracked - both use STL Tonehub, one has a Big Muff running into it (not sure if it's my Deluxe or the Pi - sounds more like the Deluxe to me).

I don’t wanna be dumb
I don’t wanna be thick like you are
I don’t want be stupid, bark at the moon
but I need to be clued in
I need to know what makes your brain tick that way
I downloaded tiktok, sacrifice my brain
I’ll rot my brain on chardonnay the old-fashioned way
I need to know what makes your mind think that way
should I watch some TV broadcast on the waves?
I’ll rot my brain on marque vue the old-fashioned way
and it seems that I’m not, I’m not alone
I don’t wanna be dumb
I don’t wanna be thick like you are
I don’t want be stupid, bark at the moon
I need to know what makes your brain tick that way
I downloaded tiktok, sacrifice my brain
I’ll rot my mind on rocket fuel the old-fashioned way

I like the idea of "hardest rock" as a platonic ideal; this has more of an indie feel to it but regardless it's great fun. The treated guitars at 1:40 made me sit up and pay attention.
And good grief, "I downloaded tiktok, sacrifice my brain" is absolutely bang-on. Every time I've seen something off it on social media, I've felt my neurons wither and die.

This bangs. Super tight guitar riffs, awesome sound.

Massive guitars. Huge riffs. The single synth chord really is genius

The guitars sound huge mate, love it. The lyrics are actually really fun and playful, which suit the track. Really enjoyed that held note synth sting.

This is fantastic! The vocals sound good to me, drums and guitars are nice, but... Can we talk about that bass line?! Holy crap that's epic! Such energy in it, which carries this entire song forward. And the bass is perfectly mixed - louder than usual, but still taking a back seat in general.
Epic. Loved it!

Dude. This rocks hard! Such a big sound. When those first guitars come in...bam. I know you said the vox were a rough take, but I really like what you having going on with the melodies. Clever lines and I really like the phrasing on the chorus.
