NOTE: Just uploaded a remix on this 2/12 with a lyric tweak and new drum kit sound.
I'm on a "meditation leading to song" kick. I'm just rolling with it.
You wrestle with the same tired lies
Too hard to change up your mind
Spiraling down thru the deep tangled roots (that)
That are feeding these poisonous vines
Chorus
What if we uproot you and plant you in new soil?
Bathe you in beautiful light
Could you survive being ripped from your old ground
Would you die or thrive
You could thrive
Verse 2
The inevitable exposure is bound to be brutal
You might try to cling to what’s known
But you’re slowly being buried as the centuries fall
And you might petrify into stone
Chorus
What if we uproot you and plant you in new soil?
Bathe you in beautiful light
Could you survive being ripped from your old ground
Would you die or thrive
You could thrive
Bridge
Take your sleeve
Wipe the dust from the mirror
See yourself
For the very first time
may choke your lungs
And burn your eyes
won’t be easy
But I’m begging you try
(Repeat bridge with chorus underneath)

I love gardening and I enjoyed these beautiful metaphors so much. It could fit to many people who "lost their roots", left their home-country and now (have to) try a new start elsewhere... but it could also refer to someone who left a long-lasting relationship and now struggles to start a new one... I like the many ways these lovely lyrics could be interpreted. Great musical take on them, and your voice shines as always...

I really like the central metaphor. I'm not entirely sure what changed (other than the entrance of a staccato vocal and maybe the perc gaining up a bit) but the last chorus had a nice lift to it.
And great singing. As always. :)

Cool drum and music. Love the poetic language and you lovely vocal leaps and range on this song. Also love the insight in the message in the metaphor. Gorgeous!

Great vibe. Love the melody overall and the chorus is great. The 6 syllables of "the inevitable" took me a little out of the song at the beginning of V2. The chorus brought me back. Dig the production!
