Lyrics and melody were forming and I did spend some time with this one as a potential collab.
As a woman, the lyrics were forming from a woman's point of view - ideas like: noticing a guy across the room who keeps looking away, by the final chorus it shifts into "he's my shy guy, he's my shy guy".
I toyed with the idea of skipping lyrics altogether and just skat'ing the whole thing. Lyrics and melody are so entwined. The whole session was enlightening.
It's the last day, but I wanted you to know I really liked this one and it was super fun attempting to come up with preliminary ideas to potentially present for collab.
(And yes, I did read the collab FAQ and fully understand that collab doesn't exist until both parties decides it does.)
I usually start with words that spark a melody. Then head to the DAW to layer in harmonies. It was intriguing taking the exact opposite path - listening to a formed song, hearing the melodies rise, then searching for the words to meet them.
I was surprised by all the head chatter around writing lyrics for a stranger. The narrative was that I had to get inside the persons head and express from their point of view. This was the perfect song to break that down and dissolve it out of existence. I'm not a guy!
Definitely catchy, makes you tap your foot. I also had an idea for a song with this title so came by to check it out. Good stuff! Would be great with lyrics.

In any case, this song is great.
