Feb 2022 metal death-metal old-skool brutal
Enough of this mucking about.
Let's have some proper death metal!
:D
I've been re-reading Alastair Reynolds' Revalation Space series of books and I think there are signs of that leaking into the lyrics...
Revealed
The stain of life
Crawling
Among the stars
Spread
Like pestilence
Discolouring perfection
Tireless
Parasite
Chromosomal bonds
Unceasing
Replicate
False genetic code

Symbiont
Exist to propagate
Clamour
Escape the wave
Extinguised

Dislocate
Accelerate extinction
Viral load
Entombs
Exhumed
From blackened depths
Flicker into life
Reboot
Ancient purpose
Eradication plague

The devastation of the invasive spread of a deadly virus put very effectively to music. Love that crazy guitar solo in the middle. I may not be a heavy metal fan, but I can appreciate an accurate musical interpretation of a creative, foreboding lyric such as this. Rock on!

Killer work!!!!

This is utterly amazing. Fantastic production and mixing, too, this sounds like a professional studio album track. It's crazy to think this is a FAWM demo. Everything about this song is perfect

Yeeeah! Powerful and dark, brutal indeed. Very well done!

Brutal in the best way. Loving that voice. The drums are beautiful. Especially when the song slows down. Great guitar solo, too.
This is a great track. :)

I was into it and then it came ALIVE for me at the solo, man. Not dissing the rest of the track, just saying wow that solo.
@coolparadiso Feb 2022

Hoo-boy, now there's the Sapient I know, LOL. I love how, in the first verse, the first four lines are growled in a traditional death metal delivery, and then "spread!" is shrieked in more of a black metal style. This seems to be yet another one that the #collapsechallenge tag could legitimately be attached to, given the extinction-level pandemic it seems to be about (haven't read those books).

spacey few seconds at the start.... false sense of security .... and then straight into THE METAL.
It's pretty furious (and fast) ..... and I like the sparseness of the lyrics sure is an amusing song to stick on between conference calls. I really like the title of the song too!
oh and give me that breakdown at 1:24 ALL DAY long.

Fast and furious sir! Brutal is about right, but in a good way.
