Chapter 5 (Continued from https://fawm.org/songs/129557/)
Just as the Motor City Madman took aim at Anima with his grenade launcher, an endangered Siberian tiger leapt from his trailer and decapitated the Great Gonzo. As Anima turned to flee terrified into the dark forest, she thought she saw the tiger actually shit down his neck while gnawing on his face.
Anima was inconsolable – mostly because there was no one there to console her, but also because she was in shock at the completely insane fucked up shit that just happened. A cold, spotty drizzle mingled with her warm tears as she stumbled aimlessly among the mangled roots and withered leaves. The temperature dropped suddenly and harshly, and her breath fogged her view.
She shivered as her teeth chattered, masking from her a faint voice in her head – a broken record of social programming where it’s perfectly normal for women to get paid less for equal work, but as if for compensation, are rewarded with a seat on the subway... Where it’s kind of ok when a girl gets shot in the face for going to school… Where it’s completely logical for a woman to get acid thrown in her face because she shamed her family by getting raped… The voice implores her relentlessly, whispering louder, and by name, “Anima… Anima...”
Anima lay waiting in the rain
Men have always treated her the same
She walks silent through the trees
Counting to herself - one hundred
Knowing she can never win the game
Anima had nothing left to say
She knows it won’t matter anyway
You can’t stop the birds and bees
Nature doesn’t have a conscience
Night is always followed by a day
Boys will be boys
But grown men go to war
On the wings of a dove
Anima my love…
You can’t stop the bomb production
Business doesn’t have a conscience.
Anima lay crying in the rain
She could never get used to the pain
Bombs destroy the birds and bees
Exploding sound to drown her whisper
No one ever listened anyway
No one ever listened anyway
No one ever listened anyway
No one ever listened anyway

interesting interplay between the dark lyrics and the slowish dancey groove.
bass and drums sound terrific.

Really a catchy song! Congrats. Everything fits so well together. Congrats! I also dig the guitar lead - vocals combo!

Great groove! Catchy as hell. Loved the vocal here. Great arrangement. The singing following along with the lead guitar was a great choice.
