Any thought you ever had
You know I thought before
Anything you think you know
I know you’re wrong
(You know I know you’re wrong)
Haven’t you heard
Haven’t you seen
Haven’t you read that book
It’s high-a-ly enlightening yeah
I tell you take a look
(You should read that book)
I think a thousand thoughts in the blink of an eye
I thought I was wrong once
But I changed my mind
Renaissance Man take it from me
I’m an expert in my area of expertise
I’m your Know-it-All Guy
They said it I heard it then I told you so it’s true
And if it ever was a doubt we’ll I knew that too
Now you do
Spirt-de-cor a propo of joie di vi
E pluribus, infinitum, etc. eg.
(As you can clearly see)
I think a thousand thoughts in the blink of an eye
They Said I was wrong once
But man they lied!
Regis-trated intellect in the first degree
I’m an expert in my area of expertise
I’m your Know-it-All Guy
Wouldn’t want to have to say I told you so
Just do things my way
What possibly wrong could go…
(What could) possibl-y go wrong
I think a thousand thoughts in the blink of an eye
I thought I was wrong once
But I changed my mind
Renaissance Man to the utmost degree
I’m an expert in my area of expertise
I’m your Know-it-All Guy
What could I elucidate for you today?
Feminism albinism macro-geo-logistical-trade
I speak intelligently
If you use the wrong “your” you’re dead to me
I've had an idea for a song along these lines for a while - a Shel-Silverstein-ish kid-accessible 'heads-up' to be on the look out for a character such as this. Also a reminder to myself: don't be that guy.

Yes! Paul Simon is back to his best! Love the whole performance and production created here - and that rhythm and feel you create just with the guitar (though bolstered by the perfect choice of various percussive noises) is super-cool.
'What possibly wrong could go…
(What could) possibl-y go wrong'
You frickin' genius!

This is such a great upbeat song and a wonderful reflection on SS poem books style of talking to kids in an adult appealing way. Great message to not be that person. I think there is a clap and stomp challenge and I think this catchy danceable beat would fit although I can’t tell if you are stomping. :)

Ha! This is so much fun, Joe! A bit like the bastard love child of It’s Still Rock n Roll To Me and You Can Call Me Al (I mean this in the most complimentary way I promise). You absolutely nail this kind of character, and the line ‘I’m an expert in my area of expertise’ made me laugh a lot. Well done man!

Completely taken by this song from the very first taste of the vibe. I love your lyrical/vocal phrasing and the song is just so much fun. Perfect clapping backing and super tasty guitar-ing. This one is just great - everything about it works so well. You could play this for just about anyone and they would find something to relate to and regardless of whether they caught things, they would be clapping/singing along and joining the "know it all guy" part. Success!!

This one really got me

Great song concept!! I dig your vocal styling - it works perfectly and completes a really cool vibe with the percussive acoustic guitar and the claps and stomps. I think this song would kill live - the crowd would be so into it. Lyrically it makes me think of the song with the lyrics "Oh lord it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror. I get better looking each day" Anyway the kinda beach Margaritaville vibe is very engaging and fun to listen to. Really well done.
