Feb 2022 reverberatingfawm reverb bass guitar passerelle instrumental
This year I'm only do short tunes it seems. Here's another one. I'd like to extend it into something else.
If anyone has ideas for this contact me...
Update (Feb 16): extended version with vocals by @majordanby https://fawm.org/songs/132188/
Maybe this also serves for the "Use Reverb as instrument" challenge. Reverberation was done with Valhalla Supermassive, Valhalla Delay and Valhalla Plate. The guitars also used an Astronaut Multiverb Space Unity pedal and a simple Flashback Delay Mini.
The Koto-like sound in the beginning is achieved with an extra bridge on an acoustic guitar. So this might as well be appropriate for the strange instruments challenge.

Fascinating Koto like sound with that extra bridge. Intriguing piece in general. I am now off to hear what the extended version added.

Wauw! Das gefällt mir! Schön aufgebaut, der durchgängige Bass und das Koto- Dings bringen eine wunderbare Ruhe rein.
@siebass Feb 2022
Was wondering what that ethereal sounding plucked instrument was; it does sound kind of like a koto or shamisen, but it's dripping with verb. Thanks for the explainer and picture. This really goes differently than I was expecting from there; deep driven, warble trem with a dark drum and bass groove. Ominious creepers in the bushes tailing you down the street kind of vibe. Very cool.
@arthurrossi Feb 2022
I agree on the dreamy mood that was already mentioned here before and that is conveyed by the track so beautifully. It has a peaceful feel. Great sound and very pleasant to listen to...
@jayjay Feb 2022
What an incredible sound. Absolutely love it. Perfect title.
@headfirstonly Feb 2022
Well, that's not something I've ever seen done before. What an interesting idea (and a great sound)!
This has a great, lazy groove with the growling electric guitar and those brushes on the drums. Perfect for sprinkling those pedal-driven sparkly bits over!
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
I love the sound of a Japanese Koto. It's pretty cool you got your guitar to make this music. Everything worked so well together in a dreamy atmosphere. I love the chord change at :58. I want to light a candle and just chill to this piece!
@lowhum Feb 2022
I used to do something like this by restringing a guitar with two sets of 6, 5 and 4 strings and tuning it to a pentatonic. Nice melancholy, on the road feel, may be with a little twist waiting in the future, but the boys are alright for now.
@deena Feb 2022
Fascinating sounds! I love the way it develope Dreamolicious!.
@feb21sundari Feb 2022
Such a beautiful dreamy piece of music with a lot of room to breathe.
@billwhite51 Feb 2022
so many different guitar sounds, all appealing and everything mixed to lovely effect.
@w1n Feb 2022
Ah the passerelle, been really curious about for a while, but haven't managed to justify the price quite yet. Really like the sounds and arrangement, could quite easily imagine this working really good as music for a TV or film scene
@beat Feb 2022
Thank you for this dreamy „let me just lean back and close my eyes for two minutes“ soundtrack. Mmmh. Replay!
@xfloorpunchx Feb 2022
Love that koto sound in the beginning! And you cant go wrong with the Valhalla plug-ins. Nice use of them. I really dig that atmosphere!
@cblack Feb 2022
Nice and pensive, in a productive way. That guitar riff is really good. Well-played and emotive! I like it. :)
@majordanby Feb 2022
Woah, this is so beautiful. I love the unexpected electric guitar and how although it is quite heavy, it sits alongside the prettier elements. Reminded me of Sun Kil Moon who also balances this perfectly. Had to listen twice.
If you do collaborations, I could try to put some Thom Yorke style vocals over this. If you give me permission I can have a play and see if anything decent trickles out. :-)
@slightlydrunk Feb 2022
Love the build-up, everything has this very dreamy quality. Perfectly mixed for my taste, the reverb is absolutely on point!
I'm also a bit of a sucker for good percussion and really, really like yours on this track, especially your use of the snare brush!
What a great song to sit back, relax and reflect life to.
Downloaded and watchlisted!
@jessespillane Feb 2022
This is a really beautiful sound you got. A really fun listen. The acoustic guitar with the extra bridge sounds great. And it is a delight splashed in reverb.
@tseaver Feb 2022
Nice write: the dreamy quality of the verb-drenched guitar does indeed evoke a summer's afternoon watching clouds.
@resonut123 Feb 2022
This is So Cool with the Koto sound in the beginning then the bass, drums and electric guitars coming in and sounding great.
Love the delay and reverberation. Spacious.
Well done.
@nadine Feb 2022
Oh yes, that's a lot of reverb. So interesting to listen to people going the shoegaze part and you do something calm and rather acoustic. I enjoyed my listen. Perfect song to end a day.
I didn't know about that passerelle thingy and it sound so nice. I wonder if you also own a bow. Not an e-bow a bow-bow like for violin players. I dig that sound and it's so strange that I wanna have it someday soon.
@engebretsen Feb 2022
Ohh. I love this strange mood you play here. Where is my cigar?
@karlsburg25 Feb 2022
Oh wowzers firstly it so does qualify for the reverb challenge. and i love how you've got the koto sound and its totally unexpected going into that groove but man its gorgeous. i can imagine some "till i die" beach boys style harmonies floating over this
