Since I was a child, I saw religious and spiritual competition as something very absurd. At a very young age I had the realisation that faith paths, diverse as they may be, enrich the fabric of life and ought not to lose themselves in fighting over who is holding the ultimate truth (which I think cannot be comprehended anyway). I therefore dedicate this song to all who engage in interfaith ministry, all over the world. They are indeed bringers of solace and healing, joy and peace ...
Many roads lead up the mountain,
many streams flow to the sea,
many birds fly across the borders,
singing unrestrained and free.
Many colours shine in the rainbow
stretching far beyond the skies,
they are mirrored in all the people,
they are mirrored in our eyes.
One Spirit, One Love
and countless rivers running home,
they carry us home.
One Spirit, One Love
and countless ways to follow home,
they lead us home,
they lead us home.
Many prayers rise in silence,
many candles burn in the night,
many hopes are concealed in the shadows
and are waiting for the light.
We are one and we are many,
and we speak of joy and peace,
we are bringers of solace and healing,
setting minds and souls at ease.
One Spirit, One Love
and countless rivers running home,
they carry us home.
One Spirit, One Love
and countless ways to follow home,
they lead us home,
they lead us home.

Sehr schöne Melodie, wieder einmal - und die Richtung, in die du da inhaltlich zielst, finde ich auch sehr ansprechend.

There's a wonderful quote from Julian May's Many Colored Land, where the Christian nun, discussing belief with one of the alien Tanu, for whom the Goddess is female: "Masculine, feminine, all aspects of the One!" As I was brought up in the Christian tradition (and seriously--I know my scriptures tho I can no longer quote chapter and verse but I can find them fast!) I tend to think in Christian modes, but also with all the Hindu influences, and more recently the advanced Aboriginal mythos, all I can do is applaud this lovely lyric and setting, both as a song of hope AND for its basic truth. Mind you, you and I both stand a good chance of being crucified or whatever the current alternative is for even suggesting such things. If the Religious Right don't get us, the God-Is-Dead_Left will. Happy thought. Meanwhile, we create music.
