Forgot my headphones this morning abs can’t really write tracks on the train without them unless I was to write ‘blind’ - now that’s a thought. So instead turned my mind to a lyric or whatever this has ended up as being.
It’s a little one note he said
Is no note one note
Is there a rhythm in just the words?
Is there a vote fir the odd quote
Or is this silence absurd?
But of course in here
It’s never quiet and times there are a many
And out here too my point of view-
It’s not exactly that there aren’t any!
The train rumbles in this morning
Beeps to close the doors
Engine revving up
Noises one ignores ?
Not me - my hypersensitive ears they clock the lot. Writing songs and lyrics is kinda one way to make ‘em stop
Outer worlds or inner
The noises always there
We long for stillness - monotony - ?
( do we)
To sit here and just stare
Free of sounds both inner and outer
Free to tune right in
To the other world of sounds
That’s where it all begins …
The single tone of planets orbiting the sun
A single bite within it
The universe begun
But ended? Maybe tgat as well
Contemplating this
Sometimes wonder
…
I kinda lost my thread let me restart
I was gonna say thatJohn cages take on it
Is that there’s no such thing
That when a piece is written it exists within
A frame of time with its own
Capacities to absorb each
Sound from the environment
And thus this is the ‘piece’
So this song - one note challenge-
Come to you with just that approach
What’s the soundscape that it enters
Can you blame me or reproach
Me if it’s not a single notescape
Maybe that is what You bring
Your exquisite inner symphony
The urban city ‘sing’
The tone that signifies the om
The turning of us all
It’s all inside a single note
Or perhaps no note at all.

You certainly can text quickly. Those letters just fly up on the screen. I imagined the noises of a train, passengers with their papers, but the last few lines sum it all up. The awareness of your surroundings, and yourself. #tit4tat

Wow… I was moved by this. I am also a huge fan of John Cage & the others who have opened new views to music.
Thank you

All right the video came out alive and well! I really enjoy this meditative conceptual art vibe of watching you write this out in real time. Super fun and unique experience, and still, as I mention below, creates an experience from you that amplifies the sounds around me.

I am curious about hearing this as a huge John Cage fan, but unfortunately, the youtube video comes up as "still processing video, check back later." While I'm enjoying my personal soundscape of the house and surrounding city noise as a backdrop to your words, I also look forward to hearing it soon!
