I've cut them up and rearranged them into song form, but these are the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from the last book he wrote before he was killed, Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? It's the book where he said, "We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now," in a conclusion warning that there wasn't much time left to choose a path away from hate and white supremacy.
That was fifty years ago. We chose chaos.
Order over justice
The liberals insist
Oblivious tranquility
The ravages persist
The racists have restructured
The bullies and the guns
The full cost of justice
The price of freedom not won
A tragic death wish
Ever-rising tides of hate
The wreckage of nations
There is such a thing as being too late
The fierce urgency of then
Fifty years have passed
We have adjusted to injustice
And the bill is due at last

That harmonica is insane. I'm loving what you're doing sonicly.
It's like a london soapbox (not policebox) transported to another planet.

So powerful and relevant right now. You do really interesting work. It’s almost aural art more than music. #tit4tat

This is powerful on every level. great job!
That last couplet--- 'the fierce urgency of then/fifty years have passed/we have adjusted to injustice/and the bill is due at last' is brilliant, and sad, and all too accurate.

“There is such a thing as being too late.” “Adjusted to injustice,” Oiy. Music again perfect in tone and weight. Kind of a Trent Reznor sound with a Ken Ficara signature.

Ha, your vocals are really great bathed in reverb (and some other effects, obviously).
Awesome textures, that harmonica is just killer. I think it speaks directly to the guts rather than to the mind. Meanwhile, you're delivering stunning lyrics, horribly true, but poetic nonetheless. I enjoy this one a lot.

That last line really sums it all up. A powerful song on an equally powerful topic. I'm loving the treatment you've done to all those great harmonica tones. Wild. Well done Ken!
