Caught myself in loop of a downwards turn
Lost my grasp on something vital I had heard
30 years time has been showing on my skin,
And it seems like my hair is starting to thin,
I lost my shot And i’m starting to learn,
That repeating the words won’t invert the turn
I’ve got to change gear or accept the loss,
But i’m an old dog so i guess i’ll keep paying the cost
They say a penny lost is a penny earned,
And i’ve lost my cents and keep waiting my turn,
I keep trying to break these walls to have this dam burst,
But i got turned around and started carving out a hearse,
And every word I write feels like it trivializes my curse,
I put my soul into song but left myself trapped in the verse,
So let me drag myself free with the hook,
So many judged the cover, I’m trying to jam open the book,
Break apart the lock,
Steal the hands off the clock,
Step back to take a look and seem myself lost in time,
Perhaps I can find meaning in the rhyme.
Only last touch of truth in between the lines
Perhaps I haven't lost my mind

Gives apt voice to many of the feelings we have as we get older and make our way through life.

There's a lot of raw emotion in here coupled with some good insistent musicianship. Keep it up.,
