I asked my friend for another word to kick start a new song. They picked "parmesan cheese". I said, "gee, thanks, that'll be easy, ugh."
There is virtually no major change in the verse and chorus melody. That almost always doesn't work. I guess I could call my chorus and "enhanced verse" but that's just silly. I tried to set the "chorus" apart by just having the verse be vocal and a bass line, then bring in the electric piano and harmony vocal in the chorus. It either works or it doesn't. Hey, it's fun to create and and lyrics were fun to write.
My Parmesan Cheese
I made a simple pasta it’s tastin flat
It needs a bit of somethin’
Maybe this or that
Only one option that’ll really please
Grate a little bit of that Parmesan cheese
Chorus:
Hey, pretty mama
You’re my Parmesan cheese
Shake a little on me
That’s your expertise
You take me to heaven
When you aim to tease
Now get on top
My little Parmesan cheese
A little salt
Not much to it
A pinch of oregano
Didn’t do it
Extra pepper
Made me sneeze
I need a little bit of that Parmesan cheese
Chorus
I’m just the noodles
And the rice
But you make it better
With your pinch of paradise
Chorus

I think the chorus/verse dynamic works. It’s clear which is which. I think songwriters try and over complicate things when some great songs are the same three chords over and over.
Also, you’ve shown me that “cheese” has some fantastic rhyming potential.

This is a song that will age well: sprinkled with witty lines, vocals were not grating. Nice work!

Some great lines in there, a classic song about Parmesan cheese!
