Feb 2022 instrumental electronica
For a sparsely orchestrated electronic piece without lyrics, this was an astonishingly long time in the making. The main parts are all U-HE Hive patches created by me. The main challenge was to stretch out the chord changes far more than I'm used to and comfortable with.
The vocal sample is Michael Hudson who I admire and who I hope will forgive me for including him for dramatic effect.

This is very nice, it's pretty chilled but still well paced at the same time. It is what I would want to listen to when I need to get my head down and really focus at work.

Love your patches! Especially that glassy feedback-y only so ever slightly distoted patch in the background. There's nothing wrong with taking your time :) The beats are a nice unexpected bonus.

Ahh, gorgeous, warm, analog sounding. I'm tapping this for 'writing music'- to explain, long ago I found I can concentrate , and particularly when it comes to creative pursuits, when I have certain kinds of warm and minimal music on. i've gotten so much mileage out of Eno's Music for Airports, and while this is not nearly so spare, I love how warm the sounds are.

Ahh so a step or two out of your comfort zone, eh? I like it and I appreciate it. It's funny - I'm watching a documentary about the Wu Tang Clan while listening (volume on the TV is actually background noise and I have headphones on) and this has a relaxing effect to it...I'm inspired.

Oooh, right from the beginning I love the textures and subtlety. Love all the little ear candy moments in here. Very tastefully done, I'm not surprised it took a long time. I almost feel like with electronic stuff that is sparse, everything has to be so tight because there's nothing to hide behind or within. Very lovely ambient piece for the first half. I was grinning really big when the hi-hats start to come in, not knowing where it would go. Beat drops and it grooves really nicely. I can appreciate the restraint here. And it makes that bell/chime/tone sound that comes in toward the end so much more impactful. Really nice!
