Big 140 bpm Latin-inflected dance instrumental, based around a monster piano vamp. This is a sequel of sorts to "Latin Thing" from my 2013 (?) FAWM album, which used a similarly jumpy piano left hand part to inject a huge amount of energy into the piece. (You can hear the same device on the Spice Girls' "Spice Up Your Life", and probably assorted Carlos Santana records).
Given the piano riff, I wasn't sure whether to attempt to turn this into some sort of old-school house record. In the end I went my usual instrumental route of using a guitar melody with traditional band drum and bass parts.
The guitar lines are a bit disappointing -- I basically just improvised them. They meander around without much of a sense of their function in the wider piece of music. Given the energy in the piano section, I knew the track was going to need to take a serious breather at some point, so the bass solo two-thirds of the way through was always on the cards. I didn't really make a great job of that, either.
Oh well. I like the energy in this a lot.

I love the energy you've created with this song! It builds and builds. The guitar sounds awesome throughout. If this is you improvising, holy smokes!! This is an amazing song.

I loved the energy too. :) The guitar was great, and the drums were fun.
Nice work!

Well, I think you are way too modest about the guitars, they sounded good. That intro piano line is a Monster for sure! The balance and flow thru the sections is great. Very enjoyable!

I agree, that piano vamp is working great for energy. I am not as disappointed in the rest of the band as you are :-) You are supporting dancers after all, a few people in the hall are looking at the bassist (I was always one of them! ;-) ) but most are just looking for energy for their more immediate pursuits! Seems to me there's plenty of story and complexity in this piece, and it doesn't need "rock ego". In the bass solo, the drums drop out pretty far to support dancing, unless it is a performance set piece, maybe it would feel notably different with more of the beat still in? Tracks like this can go so many directions. I enjoyed this a lot!

Very cool track, it keeps moving/changing but has a really strong identity throughout. Quality!
I'm not sure if I'd go as far as to say the cowbell was sufficient, I could use a little more.
I got a fever, and the only prescription...

Love the Latin beat! Oh yeah, dancing for sure! Love it! Did I say that already ? Lol!

Looove the piano riff and how the song builds up bit by bit. This sounds very fresh, brilliant!
