Feb 2022 birthdaygift guy-with-guitar
So today is @kellyk's birthday so I wrote a song for her. This (in poem form) accompanied a gift. Can you guess what the gift was?
This is about the 5th tune I went through; most of them were too ponderous. This one was more playful. Still not 100% happy but only so much time so we FAWM on.
Oh and feel free to wish her a happy birthday on her FAWM wall.
Ever spinning circles
Never stopping 'cept to change
Up the reaction in its mechanism true
The analogue analogy
It gives us points us onward
Through the seconds, hours, days we hold to
Face it now-
The hands of time
As mounted on a wrist
Remind me
The hour has come
For you now to be kissed
Circles within circles
Spinning on an axis ever
While revolving in an orbital itself
This world on which we live
Continues to rotate apace
Which always brings me back to you yourself
Face it now-
The hands of time
As mounted on a wrist
Remind me
The hour has come
For you now to be kissed
Once each February
The revolution of your life
Completes and starts again
Once each February
I lovingly wish you happy birthday
As your husband and truest friend
Face it now-
The hands of time
As mounted on a wrist
Remind me
The hour has come
For you now to be kissed

Very scientifically motivated birthday kiss. Hopefully hard science but soft hearted. Cute song! Hope she liked it!

I obviously didn't hear the earlier takes think you nailed it this time; this didn't feel ponderous at all, but rather happy and charming and delightful. The affection absolutely comes through, loud and clear. It's wonderful to hear such unabashed joy!

This is so sweet and wonderful, in addition to the clever writing. The chorus is very fun. What a great birthday gift!

This was wonderful.
Thanks for sharing it. I love how upbeat and positive it sounds.

Catchy and clever. Loved your playing and the thoughtful intonation of your vocals. Well done! Btw, I see you in Manitoba. I live in Winnipeg, where are you?

I love the way the words just keep coming relentlessly... like time... I guess that's the point! Trying to figure out what the present was. If only there was a clue ;).

This bounces along, really works well with the cycle of life theme and the lovely timepiece gift. I enjoyed listening to it :)
