Hopefully the mix of singular and plural pronouns works, as I want it to be a hymn-like prayer for me, but also for God's people. Also, I really want the refrain in singular, so I can include the reference to the world's first woman theologian (the story's in Genesis 16).
1. Open eyes to see the world,
the places of our dwelling;
these spaces rich with glory, unfurled
the story still forthtelling.
2. Open eyes to work the earth,
o'erturned we face deep sorrows;
discern the king's vocation call,
and seed hope in the furrows.
[refrain]
You gave sight to blind men:
grant me open eyes;
for you are God who sees me,
to see you is my prize.
3. Open eyes to see my son,
please grow his loving spirit;
to know that you are forming him,
your cov'nant to inherit.
4. Open eyes to hear my wife,
to walk in comprehension;
to wash her with the word that sees,
with prayer meet life's tension.
[refrain]
5. Open eyes to see the word,
writ' down by inspiration;
ground on which to build our lives,
Lord Jesus our salvation.
6. Open eyes, and look ye saints,
we live by Jesus merit;
give our glorious King his praise,
the Father, Son, and Spirit.
[refrain]

I definitely hear the hymnic form to both the tune and the lyrics here. You have a good feel for the metre.
