I have discovered that guitar playing is not my forté. So most of the rhythm guitar is Spitfire LABS electric guitar. The short fuzz solo is actually me on guitar. Oh, and I pitch-shifted my voice lower for that blurry effect.
It’s like leaving the kitchen with the wrong glasses on,
can’t see what I’m doing, everything’s wrong
Oh yeah, I’m on time, ‘cause I left in a hurry
but with the wrong glasses everything’s blurry
We all see the world from our own point of view
old look to the past, the young to what’s new
I’m no different, I’m flying blind
but if I detour, well I don’t mind
when asked for directions everyone lies,
they try to be helpful, friendly or nice
It’s like we’re all lost in a world of confusion
and the people we meet don’t share our delusions
So I grope thru my life touching the wall
trying hard not to trip and not to fall
Sometimes it’s smooth sometimes it’s a mess
and occasionally I even find happiness
Instrumental break
Now I’ve got more glasses at least five pair
readers, bifocals and those over there
dark ones for sun, and sharp ones for night
which ever I’m wearing they’re never quite right
I’m trying to find what’s just out of reach
fame, fortune or a tropical beach
which is the right way to my destiny?
I’m not blind, I just can’t see.

groping for happiness, haha
fun write and well-developed extended metaphor.
I'm on time, coz I left in a hurry is one of my favourites, with what's out of reach a close second...
the solo's great !

I dig the guitar - the rhythm and your own solo. Fun, insistent drive to the whole song. Lots of everyday wisdom in the lyrics.
I'm also reminded of my wife's extensive collection of reading glasses scattered throughout the house.

You did a great job with the LABS instrument, I would never have known! Really fun song!

Well done! Clever lyrics, jaunty music - very enjoyable! (And very relatable - my husband has so many different pairs of glasses that one of these days I’m gonna buy him a bandolier to keep them all together.)

That’s a fun song. I liked the lyrics and humorous feel

I especially enjoyed this song because I'm in the process of needing/getting new glasses. :) Really like the life & glasses analogy. Clever writing, entertaining performance. And the last line made me smile. 'I'm not blind, I just can't see'. Indeed. :)

An interesting mix of humor, wisdom and clever rhymes. Your choices in instruments flattered the vocals. Fun song!

Oh yes! I can totally relate to this one! :-D
Perfect backing for the song. And the song is so wittily accurate!
love it. :-)

spec savers needs to be contacted, because this is a great song for an ad campaign. nodding my head along to this beauty over my morning porridge.

Fun write! Playing with different takes on vision / seeing / perspective works really well, especially with the capstone of leaving with the wrong glasses.

This was great! Very funny. Reminded me a bit of Ween. I like the pitch shifted vocals and I would've guessed the Spitfire was a real guitar. Who knew synths could sound that authentic!
