I know the way I see the world
You know the way I see it
When I tell you what I think
It’s so hard for you to believe it
It’s like we live on distant planets only
passing each other in orbit occasionally
I want to be free and for you to see
we need to be closer we could be closer
not separated by opinion divided by the grimace
on your face when I try to enter your space
All I have is the world I’m on
The world I see far away from me
when it doesn’t have to be
We could be closer in our thoughts
You know we ought to
We don’t have to agree on much of anything
Just one thing

I love how the song begins with a spoken-word kind of looseness, but then takes on more form and melody when the drums come in. Mark Eitzel/AMC do this to great effect, and this does too: that sense of confusion and directionless that gives way to a realization.

I really dig the dreamy ambience that you created with this song ! The vocals placements are top notch. Congratulations !

‘The grimace on your face when I try to enter your space’ is such a good line. If this a stream of consciousness (per the tag), it’s really well done. It’s a good lyric and very relatable (see above ‘grimace’ line!).
Good luck using your liner notes as your defence when whoever you definitely didn’t argue with finds out you wrote a song about it!
