This song was in response to an exercise: Write verse/chorus where verse and chorus use the same chord progression, I V VIm IV. Somehow, a sad, sad song came out. Complete, but I don't think it is done yet.
My tail wags its last wag
As sleep descends on me
My heart does its best
To beat its final beat
I don’t want to go
But I trust you to know
The best way to let go
For me
My eyes no longer see
Your face in front of me
With my final breath
I say goodbye
I don’t want to go
But I trust you to know
The best way to let go
For me

How dare you inflict this upon my heart. This is so sad and bittersweet. The strings are lovely.

Awwww . . . Sad and all too relatable for anyone who's ever been on the people end of this. Still I think a song like this could give comfort to people finding themselves in this difficult spot of having to make that choice.
