Feb 2022 acoustic one-take garageband recorded-in-bed
Earlier tonight, i Came across these two verses that I had scribbled on a small piece of paper, which was mixed with some work stuff. I think I wrote them in January. So I sat on my bed and bounced out some simple chords and recorded that puppy. Didn’t feel like bothering with a chorus, percussion, backing vocals, or anything. Just too lazy tonight.
Take all my money
Take all my time
Everything I once had
Is no longer mine
Anymore
You might think I’m joking
You might think I kid
But my heart’s wide open
Nothing more is hid
Anymore

The rhythm in your guitar playing and composition is excellent. It feels like there’s more here than just you and the guitar, but that’s all it is. I like the simplicity of the lyrics but also all the room for interpretation it leaves. It’s not clear to me if this feeling of freedom from everything you once had is happy or sad. It seems like both from your performance.

So much fun to find those little song scraps. I like this feel a lot. Also like that you didn't rush these sections into a relationship with some other chorus or verses. Fun to just give them room to be themselves for now...

Great lyrics...'cause i am putting my own spin on the story..divorce? taxes? If you were going for that it worked!

I enjoyed it. The tune is catchy. It seems like a chorus to me, or two choruses, and it caught my attention enough that I want to hear the verses, I want to know the story, how did this person get to a point where they are so empty of their past and so close to ready to find a new future?

I like it! Its even a bit vague. Is it a new love? A new kid? A new puppy? A divorce with no prenup? LOL. I tend to like tunes wide open for interpretation.

A good couple of verses though, so if you do fancy finishing adding more to it you've got a good basis.
