The lion comes in and the month begins
Rain falls low and the rivers rise
Yet I feel my soul take flight again
The sun returns and color spreads before my eyes
Flowers awaken
Their scents as vibrant as their hue
My voice is shaking with my laughter, "Love,
what should we do?"
And we are ageless as we think through possibilities
The streets of Oakland full of sunkissed faces
far as the eye can see
I swear the birds are singing louder now from every tree
The act of living amplified like electricity
and you say to me...
Lets get a little bit of bitter
A little bit of sweet
A sensory sensation
Manifesting in a treat
Java's jolt of inspiration
Gives birth to the sweetest dreams
So let's get
Coffee and icecream
Coffee and icecream
The lamb's eyes open and the month must end
But days grow longer and stay warm
An evening choir of insects as old friends
Return to decks at sunset (or their porches when it storms)
A world restarted
The light inspires all anew
And other partners ask each other, "Love,
what should we do?"
And they are ageless as they think through possibilities
The streets of Oakland full of sunkissed faces
far as the eye can see
They swear the birds are singing louder now from every tree
The act of living amplified like electricity
and they both agree
To get a little bit of bitter
A little bit of sweet
A sensory sensation
Manifesting in a treat
Java's jolt of inspiration
Gives birth to the sweetest dreams
So let's get
Coffee and icecream
Coffee and icecream

Coffee and ice cream are so,often the right answer! Nice to look forward to March with this playing in my head.

Fantastic lyrics!

Lots of fun imagery here, a sensory sensation if you will playing with more than just what I can see.

Ooo! That first line is such a compelling opening to the song. I love how many sensations you put into a song that is about "a sensory sensation" -- and your description in the first half that inevitably adds up to coffee and ice cream is so well done. (Also love the melody and the change in melodic rhythm the chorus provides.)

Beautiful. The uke sounds amazing. Lovely phrasing, quite unusual. Decks at sunset porches when it storms. Nice.
I really enjoyed this
