another meme on social media... seriously song ideas are everywhere.
Thinking of doing the song idea as kind of a rap that starts the song and weaves in and out throughout the song and then ends the song. hmmmm... interesting idea.
In Your Mind
Idea: The biggest wall you’ve got to climb
Is the one you build in your mind
Chours
In your mind
Is the hardest place to be
In your mind
Could be the meanest thing to see
In your mind
Is where the hard work is done
So keep you walls from building up
In your mind
The walls around our lives
Can come from any where
They can come from family or friends
Of just somewhere out there
The walls keep us from jumping
When the challenge is in front
And they keep our hearts from loving
When another heart comes round
Bridge
Round and round we go
In the mind space
That keep us low
Back and forth so slow
To make a new path
On which we learn the grow
Chorus
So brick by brick we tear them down
And keep our hopes alive
And brick by brick we build them up
When fear is too strong for us to thrive
Chorus
The biggest wall you’ve got to climb
Is the one you build in your mind

@colgoo thanks for the feedback!! Yes, I agree. Oh yes!! The bullies run free in our minds. And they are the meanest ones.
Thanks, I do have a tune in my head. I will for sure keep your offer in mind...

I “hear” this as two voice call and response….I am not sure if that is where you were heading with this….but my constructive criticism for your lyrics is to consider shortening those second line responses….
Voice 1: in your mind……(held out notes)
Voice 2: the hardest place to be
Voice 1: in your mind…
V2: the meanest thing to see
( is there a more powerful wording to convey “meanest”?) perhaps you could say something like “the bullies run so free…”
And so forth….every word needs to pack a punch on this, and watch your meter, consolidating with contractions, if necessary.
It’s a really powerful write and if you add a tune, I would love to take a listen. Hit me up if you’d like to collaborate…once I figure out how to get my SoundCloud account working, you can see if my stylings fit….but it appears from your soundboard you can handle the recording yourself.
