Track #3 from this year's February Album Writing Month is here! This tune feels relatable. It's about wanting to teleport to the alternate universe where things are just a little nicer and more reasonable. Or...maybe it's about stating that this universe and this world could be anything we dream it and make it, together. It's about loving yourself and each other and working toward a brighter future. And about how when this world gets me down, I like to turn up the volume and play a guitar solo or three about it. Enjoy Take Me There!
Today I didn’t want to pick my head up
Today I didn’t want to be me
Somewhere there’s a universe where I’m not feeling fed up
Somewhere there’s a world where I feel free
All I hear is news of people dying
All I see are fake worlds on a screen
Somewhere there’s a universe where everybody’s trying
To build a world where everyone can sing
TAKE ME THERE!
To the universe where no one locks their houses
And all the food is free
TAKE ME THERE!
To the world where no one’s ever kicked their dog and there’s no oil in the sea,
PLEASE
Tomorrow there could be a revolution
Tomorrow we could change the powers that be
Somewhere there’s a universe where we can work together
Somewhere there’s a world where we can breathe
TAKE ME THERE!
To the universe where we can still be allies even though we disagree
TAKE ME THERE!
To the world where no one works just for the money, cause we know it’s a disease
PLEASE

I'm a love with this muted guitar riff. So groovy. I did not expect this heavy clap with the hey, but it fits right in. Cool guitar solo. Another super neat modern production. Take me to the world where no one lives for money... oh yes.... #tit4tat

You've got a great groove going. I love the lyrics and your singing and backup vocals are great.
The street savvy feeling is cool, especially in the beginning. But toward the middle I was expecting more rhythm instrumentation. It sounds like you are drawing on African music there and it would help
convey the positive shift in attitude and actually take the listener "THERE" if you had something more of that style.

Sounds like Sting has reached year 2022 with this one. Brilliant!

That riff man! Nice. Great production with the claps and smacks and heys, and just the general ambience of the track. Solo's on fire. Just a really really cool track, enjoyed the listen!

You are the truth man. This song is actually the world that we are living. There are so many colors used here! Keep this up!

Such a sweet pop tune. Great lyrics, I can totally relate. Dig the cool arrangement and the laid back feel here. This could totally be on the radio, and I would crank it up.
@owl Feb 2022
Love your voice! This sounds super slick, I like how much you do with such a pared-back arrangement. Wonderful melodies as well.
@oswlek Feb 2022
Great! Sounds like you got Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes to be a guest vocalist. Cool groove, love those muted riffs and the "HEY!" parts add a great punch. Sweet licks. And a catchy chorus with cool backing box to boot! Is there anything left to mention?

This song is just…wow. There’s kind of everything to love here. Great lyrics. Great vocal. Wonderful melodies. This is radio ready. Absolutely fantastic.

So much to like here. Lots of layers, each of which are used so sparingly that this has so much room to breath. Vocals and lyrics are awesome. Sentiment of the tune is totally relatable. Your guitar solos...love how they start so slow and melodic then built to something more intense. Thoroughly enjoyed listening.

Good write! Wonderful vocal, delivering a sentiment to which we can all relate. The sparse arrangement gives the vocal its deserved spotlight. Cool outro solo, too.
@scottlake Feb 2022
I love the sparse and open arrangement. Really let’s your vocal quality shine. I also want to go there.

This is awesome. The lyrics are great.
