Feb 2022 electronicish
There is no chance I would ever share something like this anywhere but FAWM. Also, the second time in 2 days that I have used a vocoder, having never used one ever before in my life.
Elvis in his stocking feet
Crept out upon the darkened street
A caddy big as a whale
Elvis in Uruk
Like Gilgamesh he’s unhappy
Elvis climbed out of his car
At the local high school they needed new uniforms
He had them in his caddy as big as a whale
Man they all looked so good in those new uniforms
Elvis was a hell of a good man
Elvis in his shiny suit
On the stage and looking good
A caddy as big as a whale
A caddy as big as a whale
Elvis in his gethsemane
Like Jesus he’s still unhappy
Elvis was a hell of a good man

I see a fair amount of gratitude for the existence of FAWM here :-)
And for the existence of vocoders :-)

Deliciously weird, and great use of the vocoder. I like the lyrical touch of speaking in mythic references. (Reminds me of Star Trek NG?) The keyboard solo at the end really impressed! Maestro!

I actually went "SQUEEE!" during this one. Getting heavy vibes of Neil Young's "Trans" album here, which was a phase of Young's career that most people hated, but which I absolutely nerded out over. This is giving me *such* a buzz; I ADORE stuff like this.
Which vocoder are you using?

Only the second time with a vocoder?!? It's like you've speaking in this manner you're whole life. I love it. Taking of love, that synth is a powerful beast making love to my ears. I've no idea what the lyrics mean but I'm warming to Elvis.

Like a bizarre Laurie Anderson pop side project.
Unexpected and brilliant

Ha! How could I resist a song about Elvis! Btw, I love, the vocoder and other electronic goodness and so glad you shared this here. Sometimes it doesn’t feel safe to share it here. For some of us, it’s about sound, not song structure or genre.

I'm kinda glad I don't have a vocoder.
I'd be using that thing on every single song.
I'd be running instruments through it just to hear what that sounded like.
I'd make Mrs. Fuzzy use one every time she wanted to talk to me.
I would end up in Vocoders Anonymous.
These lyrics are so awesome; you are making me laugh.
You sound a little bit like Neil Young on Trans here...
I'm loving this experiment from you.
Loving it so much.
So good.

toms like you've never heard him before!
This is very catchy. That vocoder vocal is surreal (as one would expect). The keyboard solo is very... Men Without Hats in certain respects.
