OK - melody is more than one note! I just wasn't paying attention trying to get the odd-time slide part and thought that "simple melody = one note melody" - well, I'll let it stand.
When I look in the mirror
It’s hard for me to understand
You thinking I’m the little man
Playing with teams
Learning what it means
To be part of the build
Of Society
Because I’m full of me
I’m full of myself
Is it possible
That I was full of something else?
When I hear you talking
I’ve got to speak louder
Cause I gotta be better
Show that I know
What I’m saying
I got a pair
Confident
Because I’m full of me
I’m full of myself
Is it hard to believe
That I was full of something else?
Can’t remember the vowel in your name
Your story is probably lame
Gonna tweak some more all the same
I’ll be right back in the game
Because I’m full of me
I’m full of myself
Is it hard to believe
That I was full of something else?
Because I’m full of me
I’m full of myself
Too late to find out
That I was full of something else

This tuning is very cool - and your chromatic sliding chords and odd timing are too. It kinda feels a little off balance - like the song is trying to find its key. I really like the introspective chorus. The listener gets some clues, but does not really know exactly what you are talking about other than this self reflection and it seems an attempt to believe in yourself. It is quite intriguing actually and all the questions are cool, especially ending on one with the raise in the melody - leaving things unresolved for the listener. Very cool song!

Love the interesting question, full of something else? Ha! Very nice lyrics.

@tseaver thanks! It's from a real experience at a backyard jam this summer - what a vibe killer!
@markg it's coming but I've only just uploaded music for my first song so...
@lcad Thank you! As I said above it's inspired by a real experience that happened this summer.

Looking for the one-note melody

Nice write: deftly lays out the narcissists credo.

Nice lyric, flows well and a good build and development on a character.
