Feb 2022 pop rock guitar technology
A song about technology and stuff
The strip light is flashing, like it’s stuck in first gear
Pulsing to a beat, that I cannot hear
Maybe a ghost is trying to send me a message
And a portal to another world will appear
My keyboard is stuck in its own little rut
And my auto-correct is putting words in my mouth
And my answering machine never leaves one for me
I’m surrounded by broken technology
And my phone doesn’t ring, it’s been silent for days
They were going to call, there must have been a delay
And I try not to take it so personally
I try my best to live carefree
But I’m starting to be suspicious
That life is somehow an apparition
And people seem to look straight through me
I am losing my purpose, the more I am free

Cool! Nice vibe! I relate, and the first verse reminds me of the Korean film Parasite and many autistic & otherwise neurodiverse conversations about lighting. My husband's got lots of IT complexity that frustrates me, and I think I have DP/DR.
I like how it sort of flicks over a break towards the end of the sentence but not exactly aligned, keeping it rolling along; I heard something similar on YouTube yesterday. I'm not sure if I know enough yet to do that.

Like the lyrical theme of technology's role in feelings of isolation. Nice recording/arrangement, got a great late 70s NYC new wave vibe to it!
