Who do you look to to provide the answers you’re looking for? Mr, Greenjeans always knew what to do. Set in a bed of Americana and random history.
Well hello Mr Greenjeans
Something’s broken that we need you to fix
I picked up Tom Joad and we hit the open road and we headed towards 66
An 81 Buick leaking transmission fluid which I use my good arm to steer
I think that I feel more like I do now than the moment I first got here.
Mr Greenjeans save us now
On this straight road we got lost somehow
I took the road less traveled, read the Burma-Shave signs till I ran out of gas near Cheyenne
Hitched a ride out to Vegas where I met Dr. Nick who told me Elvis loved percodan
Went out for spaghetti with Sacco and Venzetti and the Rosenbergs picked up the tab
Sat down at a table with legs like Betty Grable
It was kitschy but inherently sad
Mr Greenjeans save us now
With no exits we got off somehow
Like a zebra when the lion’s finished
I am carrion in the sun
As go the miles will the pain diminish
Feels like I’m the only one
Wherever I go, my giant goes
He starts 8 feet and then he grows
For the ending of this endless trip I pray (and I’m still prayin)
Now Joad went on and on about some chick named Rose O’Sharon as we headed towards Big D
He had a couple of drinks and now he says he thinks that he ran into Jack Ruby
Ain’t this a kicker- he found an empty Mannlicher in some schoolbook place he swore
He made a few cracks about Pumpkinhead Jack just before I kicked his ass out the door.
Mr Greenjeans save us now
On the straight road we got lost somehow
Mr Greenjeans save us now
With no exits we got off somehow

Cool into and transition to the acoustic guitar. Great melody and rhythm. I like the vocal doubling. This song is a very interesting and captivating journey. I also like how you built the instrumental track. Very creative.
